Nokia was launching its first high-end sub-brand - the Nokia Nseries. I was assigned to art direct the global launch event in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Working closely with a Dutch event planning company, I conceptualized the space and different experiences based on the many features of the phones - i.e. the photo room, the music room, etc. Further, I’ve created all accompanying print materials, presentations, signage, apparel, and giveaways for the 400+ attendies.
The brief was short:
"Wow the audience, create something memorable and unexpected."
The post-event reaction was slightly longer:
"We can all be proud of how the launch in Amsterdam was prepared, conducted and delivered. I have been part of numerous launches over the years, but I feel so proud and satisfied about our Nokia Nseries launch in Amsterdam, that it is easy to conclude, that this was the best.
Our products are great, but their success in the market is to a very large degree decided by the process of introducing and bringing them to the attention of the trade and consumers by the influence of the press. We could not done this any better, than the day in Amsterdam."
